Amber Jarrell, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician who cares for children and adolescents at FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake. Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Dr. Jarrell brings a well-rounded perspective to children's health, pairing everyday pediatric care with a particular interest in pediatric obesity, nutrition, growth and healthy weight. 

A Baton Rouge native, Dr. Jarrell earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Southern University and A&M College before completing her medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans. She finished her pediatric residency at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital, where she was selected to serve as primary care chief resident. Her commitment to patients and to medicine has earned wide recognition, including the Franciscan Award, membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Southern University Alumni Excellence Award in Medicine. 

Dr. Jarrell takes time to understand each child and family, explains her thinking in plain terms and partners with parents on the questions that matter most — from everyday illnesses to long-term habits that shape lifelong health. Above all, she wants every child to feel seen and every family to feel supported at each step of the way. Outside the clinic, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and staying active through Lagree, Pilates and strength training.
