Ashley Wheeler, NP, is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), answering her calling to care and treat adult patients in the sickle cell population. She graduated from Southern University School of Nursing in Baton Rouge where she received a bachelor of science in nursing, as well as a master of science in nursing. Ashley is a certified family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board. She specializes in hematology, which focuses on the patient population diagnosed with sickle cell disease. She has certifications in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. She is currently a member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Ashley enjoys traveling out of the country, reading, shopping and spending time with her husband and son.
