Dr. Bhakti Samant, M.D., M.B.A. is a compassionate, board certified pediatrician and physician–management professional with more than 15 years of experience in global healthcare and clinical research. She earned her medical degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in India and an M.B.A. from Louisiana State University and completed her pediatric residency at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, where she also served as Chief Resident for the Primary Care Track. 

Dr. Samant is Six Sigma Black Belt–trained and blends her clinical expertise with a strong commitment to improving the quality of care for every child and family she serves. Her dedication to childhood obesity prevention, mental health awareness, and patient-centered care has been recognized nationally and internationally. Deeply passionate about giving back, she actively engages in community outreach, mentorship, and education to help children and families live healthier, happier lives. She loves caring for her community—especially its youngest members—and strives to plant the seeds of healthy living for a brighter, stronger generation ahead.

Her passion for healthy living has also positioned her as a core contributor to an intensive healthy-lifestyle program for kids, helping families build sustainable habits rooted in nutrition, movement, and mindfulness. As a key member of the team that launched the groundbreaking Culinary Health and Obesity Medicine in Pediatrics initiative, she brings together the science of medicine and the power of cooking. Through this work, she helps equip pediatric residents with practical nutrition knowledge and hands-on skills that empower families to make informed, nourishing choices.

She leads by example, embracing the same wellness principles she teaches and demonstrating that healthy living is both attainable and meaningful. Her steady commitment encourages families and future clinicians to prioritize holistic health, energizing the community and inspiring the next generation to champion preventive care.
