Swayze Rigby III, MD, completed medical school and his residency at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Rigby then completed his Fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Cornell University Medical Center in New York, New York. He is Board Certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, American College of Cardiology, East Baton Rouge Medical Society and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. Dr. Rigby is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

    I first encounter Dr. Rigby in 2008 when I came in the emergency room and he performed surgery on me with aorta dissection. I was impressed that he remembered the details from that first encounter, which was many years ago.
