Cheryl Hickey, MD, received her Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research from the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.  After completing three tours in the US Coast Guard, Dr. Hickey then earned her medical degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans, where she also completed her Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine residency and her Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine fellowship.  She is board certified in both Emergency and Internal Medicine in addition to her hyperbaric and wound training. 

Dr. Hickey’s passion for hyperbaric medicine started during her time as both a recreational and military diver. She is looking forward to bringing her vast experience to help the greater Baton Rouge community suffering from wounds related to diabetes, surgery, radiation therapy, and several other conditions hyperbaric oxygen has been shown to benefit.

Outside of helping patients heal their complex wounds or working occasional shifts in the emergency room, she enjoys going to festivals like Jazz Fest (her favorite!), taking trips to the beach with her husband and three dogs, and exploring the many Louisiana bayous and waterways on a stand-up paddle board.
