David Caruso, MD, is a hospital medicine physician at FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake. He earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and completed his internal medicine residency through LSU Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge. 

Dr. Caruso has a particular interest in hospital medicine, quality improvement and patient safety. During his residency, he participated in initiatives at Our Lady of the Lake focused on improving inpatient quality and safety and served as an instructor for medical students learning clinical skills.  

He is committed to providing evidence-based care while working closely with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams throughout each hospital stay.
