When I explained to Dr. Mangu that the ER doctors advised my to stop taking Ozempic and similar meds because of my diverticulitis issues (I have been in the hospital multiple times for these issues), she said that GLP1s don't have any effect on that (she wanted me back on one). I had to tell her that they slow gastric emptying and that gives more time for the diverticula to become inflamed. She then said a high fiber diet would help with that. What if I had not said anything? What if I did not know that? She said I could try when I'm ready. I told her that I was fasting and could get labs done. She said that won't be necessary because we had the in-office A1c. I thought ok well what about all my other levels that need to be checked? I was overdue for this visit and had not checked anything for some time. And the next appointment she told me she wanted to see me in 2 months. So I had the A1c that I was still not 100% confident in because it was done incorrectly, now she's not doing labs. Her demeanor felt like she just gave up on me. I've had type 2 diabetes since I was about 13 and dealt with obesity my whole life. I actually lost some weight since my last appointment and my A1c had gone down from 8.4 to 7.7 since the last appointment. I didn't insist on the labs, I was mentally very tired and sad.

Doctor was hard to understand & I left there very frustrated. Without clearly letting me know, I had to go to another lab. Appointment was for 820. Left the second lab at 10!!

I had a hard time understanding her. She would also speak real low and I strained to hear her. I am trying to locate another physician, I do not want to see her again
