Jacob Nelson, MD, is an internal medicine physician specializing in hospital medicine. He earned his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and completed his internal medicine residency at LSU Health Baton Rouge. 

Before becoming a physician, Dr. Nelson worked as a registered nurse in the emergency department at FMOL Health | Our Lady of Lourdes and in the intensive care unit, giving him a unique perspective on caring for hospitalized patients. He is passionate about building strong relationships with patients and families while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care throughout every stage of hospitalization.
