About The Provider
James Barrios, MD, is a cardiologist/electrophysiologist with Louisiana Cardiology at Our Lady of the Lake Health. He received his bachelor of science in biomedical engineering from Tulane University, College of Engineering and earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine – New Orleans. He then completed his internal medicine residency and cardiovascular fellowship at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. While in his cardiology fellowship, he was named Chief Fellow. Dr. Barrios furthered his training and completed a 2-year fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology studying how to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Barrios is a native of Metairie, LA. He is an avid baseball and football fan, and he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
