About The Provider
Kenneth P. Kleinpeter, Jr., MD, earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical School in North Carolina. He is Fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery and is Board Certified in general surgery. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He has special interest in laparoscopic and robotic surgery including treatment for hernia repair including inguinal, umbilical and incisional hernias, surgery for gastroesophageal reflux including repair of hiatal hernia and creation of fundoplication, bariatric surgery, and placement and revision of peritoneal dialysis catheters. He has expertise in endocrine disorders of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands. In addition, he offers a wide variety of other surgical procedures not otherwise listed.

Dr. Kleinpeter is a very personable, knowledgeable, compassionate, brilliant, professional doctor who consistently makes me feel like family. He doesn't rush me nor treat me like I'm just a number. He thoroughly investigates my medical history and happily addresses my concerns. Dr. Kleinpeter is the best surgeon and he's such an asset to the Our Lady of the Lake medical team.
