Mark Posner, MD, FACS, received his bachelor of science in zoology and chemistry from Louisiana State University. He earned his medical degree from LSU Medical Center – Shreveport. Dr. Posner completed his general surgery internship at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics and his surgery/urology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.  

Dr. Posner was accepted to medical school after studying zoology and chemistry within the Louisiana State University System. He later served as Chief Resident in Urology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center from 1993 to 1994. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at LSU New Orleans.

Dr. Posner is a member of the American Urological Association and the Southeastern Section of the American Urological Association, and he is a past president of the Louisiana Urological Society. He is also a former Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor in Urology by Castle Connolly since 2022.
