About The Provider
Meaghan Smith, MD, grew up in Baton Rouge where she attended St. Aloysius School and St. Joseph’s Academy prior to receiving her bachelor of science in biology and minor in chemistry from the University of Mississippi. Dr. Smith earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. While in medical school she was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and was awarded the Ralph W Baucum Jr. Award in Pediatrics. She completed her internship and residency in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was named the Carolyn Ashworth Primary Care resident of the year. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and hosting dinners with friends, attending and watching sporting events and spending time with her husband, two sons and dogs.

Our visit with Dr. Smith was outstanding. I was thoroughly impressed by her bedside manner, knowledge, attentiveness, and especially her ability to remember her patients and families.Before switching to Dr. Smith as my son's PCP, our only interactions with her had been through MyChart. The moment she walked into the room, one of the first things she said was how happy she was to finally meet him in person. That may seem like a small gesture, but as a parent, it spoke volumes to me. She remembered him and remembered our previous conversations without ever having met us face-to-face.Over the years, my son has been seen in person by several pediatricians within the same practice, and unfortunately, there have been times when it felt as though neither he nor I were remembered from one visit to the next. I understand how many patients physicians see, but that can sometimes make the experience feel very impersonal. Dr. Smith was the complete opposite. From the moment she entered the room, she made us feel known, welcomed, and genuinely cared for.That level of connection, combined with her knowledge and the way she interacted with my son, immediately set her apart. I left the appointment feeling extremely confident that we made the right decision in choosing her as his pediatrician. I can easily see why she was voted the number one pediatrician in her practice. She truly provides the kind of experience every parent hopes to have with their child's physician.

Dr. Smith is amazing and always takes time to answer all of my questions and concerns. She never makes me feel like I asked a silly question or that I am overthinking. Instead, she offer support and reassurance.

We have seen 3 other pediatricians at other clinics and did not find the care to be the same levels as Dr Meaghan Smith! We find she is very attentive, empathetic, caring and educational! We can't thank Dr Meaghan for all she does for us and helping us keep our family Happy and Health!
