Messan Folivi, MD, received his bachelor of science in biological sciences from Southern University and A&M College. He earned his masters in health sciences and doctoral degree with an internal medicine focus from Meharry Medical College, School of Medicine. Dr. Folivi completed his internal medicine residency with a focus in primary care medicine and hospital medicine at the University of Texas Health Sciences. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is currently licensed to practice medicine in the states of Louisiana and Texas.  

He is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA). Dr. Folivi also received a Cancer Research Program Certification from the National Cancer Institute of Bethesda, Maryland.  

While not at the office, Dr. Folivi enjoys spending time with his family.  He speaks three languages fluently, those being English, French and Ewe (the native language spoken in Togo, Benin and Ghana), but he also speaks some Spanish at a novice level.
