About Michele Marie Salassi

About The Provider

Michele Salassi, MD, FAAP, received her medical degree and completed her residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Salassi is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Physicians. She treats common disorders of the cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal and reproductive systems including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and chronic kidney disease. Dr. Salassi also performs routine childhood and adolescent health exams and routine pelvic exams for women.



Medicine appealed to Dr. Salassi because it seemed the practical way to help people. As a physician, the challenge of rigorous study is balanced with the need for compassion while caring for people at vulnerable times in their lives.This makes every patient unique and every day in the office different. She chose primary care because she wanted to be able to have long-term relationships with patients, in a partnership not just to treat illness, but also to promote health and well-being. A career in combined internal medicine and pediatrics provided the in-depth training of both an internist and a pediatrician, while still being able to care for families.

    I absolutely love doctor Salassi. She is so thorough and has the best bedside manner. I feel very comfortable with her. That is saying a lot. I have a hard time with trusting doctors sometimes. But she is amazing!!!

    Dr Salassi listened to my concerns and provided alternatives that took into consideration my nerve pain. It's nice to be heard and believed. I can't express that enough. She doesn't insist on a cookie cutter approach to medicine. She listens and tailors the treatment to my specific situation.
