Rebecca Bombet, PMHNP, received her bachelor of science in nursing from Louisiana State University Medical Center School of Nursing. She then earned her master of science in psychosocial nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing. She is board certified as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. Rebecca completed the post-graduate NP Family Psych Program at the University of South Alabama to become a family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Her philosophy in her clinical practice is from a holistic client-centered approach that addresses mind, body and spiritual health and wellness. That includes a focus on nutrition, exercise and sleep as well as all mental health issues. She collaborates with psychiatrists, internal medicine physicians, addictionologists and therapists who offer a variety of therapeutic approaches that are critical in a team approach when collaborating with a client.

Rebecca has 30 years of overall psychiatric experience, which includes 10 years teaching psychiatric nursing to Bachelor of Science in Nursing students at Clemson University, Southeastern Louisiana University and Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing. Her teaching experience has carried over to her practice because an educated client tends to be more compliant with their medications and treatment plan.

For the last 25 years, she has practiced a form of experiential therapy called Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP). She works with children and adolescents with all the diagnoses: ADHD, autistic spectrum disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, all trauma-related issues as well as family dysfunction.

Working with adults and the elderly for the last eight years has given her a great deal of experience with addiction, dual diagnoses, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety and depression. The most important thing for Rebecca is that the client experiences healing of mind, body and spirit.
