Ricardo Romero, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist specializing in advanced endoscopy and the treatment of complex digestive diseases. He earned his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Norwalk Hospital, affiliated with Yale University.

Dr. Romero completed advanced training in pancreatobiliary endoscopy at Baystate Medical Center and a therapeutic endoscopy fellowship focused on endoscopic ultrasound at Ochsner Medical Center. His clinical work includes procedures such ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopic submucosal dissection, used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the pancreas, bile ducts and gastrointestinal tract.

Dr. Romero participates in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards focused on gastrointestinal disease and cancer care. He has also served in leadership and teaching roles, including director of endoscopy and clinical educator for gastroenterology trainees.
