Sarah Buzhardt, MD, is a board-certified OB-GYN with FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake with more than a decade of experience caring for women across Louisiana. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Earl K. Long Medical Center (operated under LSU Health Sciences Center). A magna cum laude graduate of Louisiana State University, Dr. Buzhardt is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has served as the LSU OB-GYN Residency Program director since 2018. Her work is guided by a clear purpose: helping women build healthier lives and shaping the next generation of physicians who will do the same. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Buzhardt has cared for women through pregnancy, childbirth and every stage in between, with particular expertise in obstetrics, benign gynecologic surgery and minimally invasive gynecology. A nationally recognized educator, she has earned multiple teaching honors, including the 2025 Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Excellence in Teaching Award. Passionate about education, wellness and better outcomes for women across the state, Dr. Buzhardt brings a warm, patient-centered approach to the exam room. She takes time to listen, explain and walk alongside each patient, helping women feel informed, supported and cared for at every visit.
