Whitney Olivia Allen, MD, MPH is a proud native of White Castle, Louisiana. She received her bachelor of science in biology from Southern University and A&M College (Honors College). She also received a master of public health in health policy and systems management from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Dr. Allen earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. She completed her pediatric residency and was named pediatric chief resident at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital. She completed a sickle cell fellowship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. When she is not practicing as a pediatrician and sickle cell specialist, you can find her serving in her church and community. She is an ordained minister, assistant young adult pastor and a worship leader at City of Refuge Church, in White Castle. Truly, Dr. Allen has answered the call to serve in medicine and in ministry and embodies the spirit and mission of FMOL Health.
